For many older adults, staying in their own home is the goal, and keeping it clean is one of the first chores to become hard: scrubbing a tub, mopping floors, dusting ceiling fans. Recurring cleaning takes those tasks on at a steady pace, with the same team whenever possible, so the home stays comfortable without a lot of new faces. Here is how to set it up, whether you are arranging it for yourself or for a parent.
Why Recurring Service Suits Aging in Place
- The heavy jobs are covered: tubs and showers scrubbed, floors washed, ceiling fans dusted, beds made.
- Familiar faces: the same team cleans the home whenever possible.
- A predictable routine: visits on a set schedule, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, with no contracts.
- Trust: cleaners are trained and background-checked, sign NDAs, and the company is licensed, bonded and insured.

What Each Visit Covers
Every visit follows the standard room-by-room checklist: the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas, with counters, sinks, toilets, tubs and showers, mirrors, appliance exteriors, the microwave, dusting, baseboards and floors. See what a standard clean includes. Extras such as changing linens or doing dishes can be added.
Setting Up Service for a Parent
- Talk it through first. Agree on the day, the schedule and which rooms matter most.
- Decide on access. Your parent can let the team in, or you can arrange a key, code or lockbox.
- Arrange payment at setup, or leave cash or a check.
- Share preferences: products to use or avoid, items not to move, rooms to skip.
- Be the contact if it helps: tell us who to call about scheduling.
Making Visits Comfortable
- If your parent will be home, the team works around them, room by room. Let us know which room they will be in.
- Point out anything that needs to stay exactly where it is, such as walkers, chairs or items kept within reach.
- Eco-friendly products are available on request.
- Tell us about pets.
What Cleaning Doesn’t Cover
A cleaning visit covers cleaning. Personal care, medication help, errands and home repairs need to be arranged separately.
Getting Started
If the home hasn’t been professionally cleaned in a while, start with a deep clean, then switch to regular visits. To reschedule, give us at least 24 hours’ notice. If something was missed, tell us within 24 hours and we’ll come back to address it.
