After your first cleaning, a ten-minute walk through the home tells you whether everything on the checklist was done and gives the team useful notes for next time. Here is how to check the work room by room, what to compare it against, and what to do if something was missed.
Before You Start: Know What You Booked
Check against the service you booked, not against everything a home could need.
- Standard clean: the room-by-room checklist for bedrooms, bathrooms, the kitchen and living areas.
- Deep clean: the standard checklist plus blinds, sliding doors and tracks, the inside of the oven and fridge, cabinets inside and out, doors, behind and under easily movable furniture, and steam-cleaned tile floors.
- Add-ons: anything extra you asked for, such as indoor windows, linens, dishes, the lanai or the grill.
The full lists are on our cleaning checklist.

Room-by-Room Walkthrough
Kitchen
- Counters and backsplash clean to the touch, not just to the eye
- Sink and faucet free of spots and residue
- Microwave clean inside and out
- Appliance fronts and cabinet fronts free of fingerprints and drips
- Floor clean along the edges and toe kicks
- Deep clean: inside of the oven and fridge, cabinet interiors
Bathrooms
- Shower and tub tile scrubbed, including corners
- Toilet clean, including the base
- Faucets, shower heads, mirrors and counters shining
- Towels folded and hung; trash emptied
- Floor clean behind the door and around the toilet
Bedrooms and living areas
- Ceiling fans, lamps, furniture and frames dusted
- Baseboards and windowsills dusted
- Beds made; upholstered furniture vacuumed; cushions straightened
- Floors vacuumed or washed, including under the edges of rugs
- Deep clean: blinds, doors, sliding door tracks, and behind furniture that can be moved easily

Tips for a Fair Check
- Check in daylight where you can; streaks and dust show best in natural light.
- Run a hand along surfaces like counters and cabinet fronts; clean should feel clean.
- Look at what was out of reach. Items that were covered by clutter, or furniture too heavy to move, may not have been cleaned underneath.
- Remember that a first clean is a reset. Very old stains, etching or damage to finishes may not come out with cleaning.
If Something Was Missed
Tell us within 24 hours and we’ll come back to address it. It helps to be specific: the room, the item and what you noticed, with a photo if you can. That way the right fix happens quickly.
Give Feedback for Next Time
The walkthrough is also the moment to note preferences: a room you want more time on, a product you prefer, or something you would rather the team leave alone. Pass those along and they become part of your instructions. The same team cleans your home whenever possible, so the notes carry forward.
What Comes Next
If you are continuing with regular service, later visits follow the standard checklist and keep the home at the level the first visit set. See what happens on your first cleaning visit and residential cleaning, or call 941-894-2543 with any questions.
